Romantic Date Ideas

By Jessie Buswell

Long-term relationships don't necessarily have to come along with staleness anymore. There are plenty of things that individuals and couples can do to keep the spark alive. Keeping date nights romantic is one of the most important tactics, so here I will provide you with some fresh and new as well as some old and classic romantic date ideas.

To begin with, remember that eating dinner isn't only a date if you go out. Dinner at home can be as much or more romantic than going out. Try to make a homemade pizza, or attempt to cook something new for both of you. But whatever you do, plan a meal that involves both of you being in the kitchen, making your delicious dinner-for-two a joint effort. Also, don't forget to take a few minutes to light some candles. A little bit of fire goes a long way.

To really turn up the heat, do something classically romantic, like taking a day outing to a vineyard for a wine tasting, or find a seaside or lake boat trip and spend the day and evening cruising around on the water and watching the sunset. Not much in the world beats a beautiful evening sunset with the person that you adore most.

Although it may sound silly, the truth is that brains are sexy! So consider an edu-date, and go sign up with your partner for a class. It can be a dance class, a cooking class, a language class, or even a gun safety and shooting class. This will both expand your knowledge, skill set, and be a great way to take home what you learned with you, perhaps even in more ways than one!

If you want a playful day or evening date, consider packing a picnic and taking it to the local playground or amusement park. Then spend the whole day enjoying each others company, laughing, and rediscovering what it was like to be young again. After all, spending time laughing together is one of the MOST romantic things you can do.

For the most romantic date, do what everyone dreams about: take off a whole day and go to the spa. Sign up for a couples massage and enjoy a relaxing day together getting treated to the best of the best. For the real icing on the cake, perhaps book a room at a nice luxury hotel for the evening, and be sure to preset it with some champagne and some chocolate covered strawberries; after all, it doesn't get much more romantic than that.
